Ottawa Senators Management did right by their fans trading Brady Tkachuk. That’s not just my opinion as a proud season ticket holder – it is backed by the people of Ottawa.
The majority opinion in Ottawa say that Tkachuk was not the best player on the team, was ‘’overrated’’ and never missed an opportunity to remind fans he didn’t really want to be here.
Those disappointed with the trade don’t miss Tkachuk, they just feel that Ottawa didn’t get enough for the trade – ‘’only’’ draft picks and no immediate star player. The reality is that Tkachuk was going to be a free agent in 2028 and his contract limited their options. So this was really the best move they could make.
Time will tell if our new draft picks pay dividends but I’m certainly looking much more forward to the new season now!
